The Ultrafast solid-state quantum optics and nanophotonics group (Prof. Rudolf Bratschitsch) in the Institute of Physics at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
Doctoral Research Associate
Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in
(salary level TV-L E 13, 65%)
at the earliest possible date. We are offering this fixed-term part-time position (65% FTE) for 3 years. Full time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
Your tasks:
- Experimental investigation of the ultrafast dynamics of 2D materials and their heterostructures under high pressure
- Dissemination of project results in scientific publications and through contributions to workshops and conferences
This position is tied to working towards a doctorate.
Our expectations:
- A graduate degree (master’s or German Diplom) in physics is required.
- Experience with photocapacitance and photoluminescence measurements on III-V semiconductor nanostructures is required.
- Experience with measurements of the 2D coherence of light using optical interferometers is required.
- Experience with back focal plane imaging is required.
- Experience with measurements at cryogenic temperatures is required.
- Knowledge in Bose Einstein condensation is required.
- Experience with LabView and python programming is required.
- Profound knowledge of solid-state physics and quantum optics is required.
- A self-motivated, independent and structured work style with a strong technical leaning and the ability to work in a team is required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required, while proficiency in written and spoken German is desirable.
