RIMOWA is looking for a Global Junior Architect & Retail designer (m/f/d) to be part of the Architecture team within the Retail department. This job is based in Cologne and is initially limited to one year.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define design sketch and constructive details to accelerate the design proposal deliveries on global scale.
- Drive the design project schedules and track design deliverables on global scale.
- Follow through the design development of every project. Keep record and implement key design decisions within the Architecture and cross-functional alignments with the other departments (VM, operation, retail).
- Facilitate all the design related submission processes, in partnership with the Architecture team and other cross-functional departments.
- Standardize and develop all technical details to minimize transport and installation costs.
- Accompany the PMs in the review of shop drawings to ensure retail standards and store guideline book.
- Collaborate with architects, agencies, to ensure designs are developed to specification and quality standard.
- Tactical, organized, positive team player who is responsible for delivering the project objectives and deliverables.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Architecture or Interior Designer degree (minimum Bachelor) with a rigorous work ethic and organizational skills or Engineering degree (minimum Bachelor) with a creative sensibility
- 1 or 2 years of experience in an architecture firm or in a similar role.
- Eager to work with technical teams as well as creatives to deliver ambitious briefs with a realistic approach. (Able to strike the right balance between Budget, time, and quality requirements).
- Detail driven and problem solver. Capable of following up on multiple projects and working through challenging timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong believer in teamwork and multidisciplinary approach, able to create excellent interpersonal relations.
- Proficiency in Design/architecture programs AutoCAD Key shot, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Modeling with 3D program (Rhinoceros or Sketch up) and use of software for rendering (Vray)
- Proficient in use of Office program suite.
- English is mandatory, German or French are advantageous.
