At JetBrains, code is our passion. Ever since we started, back in 2000, we have strived to make the strongest, most effective developer tools on earth. By automating routine checks and corrections, our tools speed up production, freeing developers to grow, discover and create.
DataSpell is a new JetBrains IDE for professional Data Scientists. DataSpell is geared towards exploratory data analysis and prototyping ML models and combines the interactivity of Jupyter notebooks and IPython consoles with intelligent Python and R coding assistance. The ultimate goal is to make data science work more efficient and insightful.

- Work with a research team to define and collect user metrics for feature evaluation and investigation of user scenarios.
- Do market and competitive research to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Contribute to the product’s short-term and long-term vision and strategy.
- Represent the users and be their voice.
- Work closely with product designers, developers, and QAs to deliver the features users need.
- Collaborate closely with many different teams within JetBrains to build a shared vision.
- Investigate opportunities for collaboration with new distribution and feedback channels.
- Dogfood the IDE as an external user and provide feedback about how to improve it.
We will be happy to have you on our team if you:
- Have at least three years of product management, engineering, design, or equivalent experience.
- Have a technical education or software development experience.
- Are familiar with modern software development practices.
- Are comfortable working in a highly technical domain.
- Are proficient in English.
- Have strong spoken and written communication skills.

We’d be especially thrilled if you:
- Have data science or machine learning expertise and are interested in expanding it.
- Love Python and know it well.
- Have experience with DataSpell, PyCharm, or other JetBrains IDEs.
