Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Automotive Software Test Automation Engineer to support our mobility electronics engineering team located at our rapidly expanding Aachen Engineering Centre in Wegberg, Germany. With this opportunity, you will not only work on some of the best OEM based projects, but also on developing innovative in-house automation solutions in the area of software validation, process, tools & methods for software production in global projects.
Role/ Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the implementation of highly automated test cases including the test execution, evaluating the test results and the corresponding problem reporting. In your daily work you will closely collaborate with our core development in Japan and the relevant internal departments in Europe. As part of this role, you will:
Perform the test execution with test tools and measurement equipment.
Evaluate test results, report problems to relevant stakeholders.
Configure and maintain the overall test environment (incl. HIL, test tools, DevOps platform).
Support the project manager and project team in all department activities.
Investigate future trends and technologies, implement concepts and prototypes.
Qualifications
You shall have a passion for technical products and are likely to have a university degree in engineering or comparable education with a focus on information technology, computer, or electronics. You shall have a solid foundation in software engineering and testing gained from over three years of professional experience in embedded software development or software testing. In addition, you shall possess expert knowledge in software testing techniques, test automation, scripting, processes, tools, and methods for software engineering.
Knowledge of automotive control systems or a good understanding of Electronic Control Units (ECUs for zone controller, domain, vehicle central computer etc.) is needed to fulfil your role. Experience with the application of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML) techniques/tooling in the process of software production (development, or testing) is good to have. You shall be comfortable working both independently or in teams using a structured approach and showing a high-quality orientation. You shall demonstrate strong communication skills.
Following specific requirements strengthens your profile (good to have them, not all are mandatory):
Good experience with some common automotive industry tools from Vector, dSPACE, ETAS, TraceTronic, MathWorks, Lauterbach, etc.
Good experience with Python, C / CAPL, C#
Familiar with Jira, Confluence, Git (GitLab/GitHub/Bitbucket), DevOps CI/CT/CD, Jenkins
Familiar with common automotive software development processes & work methodologies
Some experience with simulation, modelling and test environment design and development.
Some experience with AI & ML techniques and their application to automate in automotive software production (development, or testing) and processes.
