Supporting the operations teams across Europe, you will be part of the Engineering team that the countries turn to for advanced advice and direction in Solar and BESS technologies. With a fast growing Fleet and strong targets for 2030, RWE is developing its internal expertise around Solar and BESS to ensure that our owned assets run optimally and operations teams are supported sufficiently. Working in a fast paced position, this engineer position will assist teams in time sensitive technical decisions and be part of discussion with internal and external stakeholders in processes such as RCA and warranty claims.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead problem solving and root cause analysis for technology issues involving solar and storage assets
- Lead warranty claims for various solar and storage technologies
- Coordinate the interaction with maintenance teams to ensure a proactive approach for maintenance, fault finding, and best industry practice
- Ensure that the operations processes, work practices, methods and procedures are periodically reviewed and evaluated for continuous improvement
- Researching latest trends in solar photovoltaic and storage technologies
- Continuously working with development, construction, and procurement to optimize projects and lower LCOE (levelized cost of electricity) of entire project portfolio
- Develop and implement a feedback system, so that lessons learned are incorporated into the operations processes and shared with development, engineering, and construction
- Assist in development of an operations safety program to achieve zero accidents across all solar and storage assets
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, renewable energies or related engineering field
- At least five years of engineering or operations experience in the utility-scale renewable energy market in Europe and Australia
- Advanced proficiency in various software packages, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PVsyst
- Advanced proficiency with various solar and storage technologies, including PV modules, BESS modules, inverters and trackers
- Advanced proficiency in SCADA, EMS, and BMS systems
- Fluent in written and spoken English, other languages a plus
