Frankfurt International School in Oberursel is looking for an energetic self-motivated intern who is passionate about working with students and everything related to sports, recreation, and sports management. This position is initially a one-year fixed-term contract. We may consider alternative scheduling structures but prefer a full-year commitment,
The start date will be on 01 August 2025 and contract will run until 30 June 2026.

The intern will be immersed in sports management, leadership, and support athletic initiatives throughout the school. The intern will assist in sourcing and developing new and current athletic programs,
assist in managing the after school Program (REAL - Recreation, Enrichment, Arts and Learning), and be exposed and engaged in all aspects of one of the leading international school programs in Europe. The successful candidate also has the option to design, implement and participate in exciting weekend, holiday & summer camp activities. The intern will report directly to the Athletic Director.
Job Description: - Support students, teachers and parents, regarding course and athletic team registrations
- Coordination and organization of Athletic and after school / holiday activities and programs
- Accessing risks, costs, trends to design sports and activity programming for our students
- Overseeing existing lesson plans and programs and revamping old documents
- Able to observe and support existing programming as well as, monitoring new programming
- Ability to give feedback, develop and deliver presentations to directors and office staff
- Research various sports, programs, report to directors on successful programs, actively assist in the creation of resources for coaches
- Pre-event promotional planning
- Gameday operations
- Assist with Athlete Academy fitness testing, assessment, benchmarking and performance evaluation
- Support PE department in the delivery of PE, Health and Balance Curriculum
Administration:
- Administrative support daily, teaching programs weekly
- Contacting coaches / instructors to get feedback on existing programming, emailing coaches / instructors with resources needed to succeed. Assist with creating practice / lessons plans for new coaches / instructors
- Meeting with coaches / instructors to design new programs
- Assist in developing Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD) plans for new coaches / instructors
- Support FIS Athletics, REAL Activity Programs, PE Department and Athlete Academy
Skills & Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Pursuing a career in sports management, education or other related field or similar qualification
- Moderate to strong knowledge base of all sports as well as athletic and activity programs
- A passion for sport and knowledge of sport development models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German an asset)
- Highly organized and able to provide coaches / instructors with the resources they need, with the ability to build documents in GSuite
- Self-motivated, reliable team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Strong understanding of social media channels and best practices
- Willing to work evenings and weekends (with advance notice)
- Experience developing, organizing and managing sport camps (preferred)
- Previous experience working with children and coaching (preferred)
- Standard First Aid and CPR (preferred)
