Description of field of activity - Credit Risk Stress Testing Team:
In an ever-changing financial landscape, the role of the Risk division has never been more important. A strong risk management culture helps to reinforce Deutsche Bank’s resilience. The function identifies, aggregates, manages and mitigates risk across the core activities of market risk management, operational risk management and credit risk management, supporting the bank’s strategies whilst protecting its capital and regulatory adherence.
The Credit Risk Stress Testing team is one of the core functions within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) division. It serves as a central function for Deutsche Bank’s credit risk stress testing, owning deliveries in both internal risk management as well as in regulatory stress testing exercises. The team is based in Berlin and has a close collaboration with teams in London and New York.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Support Group Credit Stress Testing (GCST) production, perform complex quantitative and qualitative analysis of key credit risk metrics like RWA, EC, EL and IFRS9 ECL and become subject matter expert including but not limited to Legal Entity stress testing under the local regulatory and ICAAP framework.
Enhance and streamline existing production process leveraging current platform, using Python and PySpark.
Lead the testing and implementation with IT of new methodologies to stress key credit risk metrics.
Manage credit risk stress testing components of large-scale change projects.
Support interactions with the Model Validation team to get new models approved as well as ongoing performance monitoring of existing models and remediation of model validation findings
Support interactions with internal audit and regulators
Beside these key responsibilities, the role will be fully part of the broader Credit Stress Testing team, and the analyst will be expected to step into other stress testing production processes to support the team when needed.
Requirements - Your Skills and Experience:
Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics, physics, econometrics, quantitative finance, engineering).
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems efficiently and proactively
Work experience and subject-matter expertise in counterparty credit risk would be a plus.
Strong knowledge of financial products and financial markets.
Excellent IT/data management skills and experience with relevant software packages, ideally SQL, R, Python, Pyspark
Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
