You can expect the following challenges in this role:
You provide leadership to all Information Technology related activities throughout Mercedes Benz (MB) Truck Markets globally, working closely with the Sales and Aftersales organization, as well as supporting the Daimler Truck Overseas organization.
As a member of the Sales Mercedes Benz Truck (SMBT) Executive Leadership, you contribute to the overall business development and value creation by driving business efficiency and revenue through the continued roll out of strategic templates, standardizing and harmonizing both business processes and the technology foundation for the Markets. You report directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Daimler Truck AG.
You will be located in Leinfelden-Echterdingen and you will manage approx. 200 colleagues worldwide, thereof 3 senior managers reporting directly to you.
You are in close alignment and collaboration in the delivery of services and strategic initiatives, in line with the IT strategy, through active contribution to the MB Truck IT Leadership and the IT Operating Committee.
Your key responsibilities are:
Strategy & Planning:
- Contribute to the company’s business and digital strategy and proactively advise the senior management on technologies and digital trends that are most relevant to the company's goals
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and lead the IT team and its business partners in effective execution of the respective initiatives
- Assume responsibility for technology strategy, architecture, digital innovation, resource planning, organizational development and financial planning while continuously ensuring alignment with business objectives
Leadership and Team Development
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and business stewardship across the enterprise. Ensure communication, transparency and strong collaboration across the business functions
- Identify opportunities for technology driven innovation and solutions. Foster a culture of innovation, transparency and accountability in IT
- Develop and maintain a plan that provides for succession and continuity in the most critical IT management positions
Operations
- Oversee operational performance and project delivery while maintaining a close dialogue with stakeholders to ensure that priorities and objectives are being met and relevant issues are addressed in a timely manner
- Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Ensure governance and compliance in line with company and regulatory standards. Establish and enforce IT policies, processes, portfolio management, development standards and methodologies
Digital Transformation
- Further develop the digital transformation ambition for Mercedes Benz Truck Markets
- Leverage data to drive the business forward enhancing the business and customer experience
- Research and implement key leading digital technologies to transform organizational capabilities
