A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be responsible for the preparation of construction contracts and the associated cost tracking (but not for quantity surveying on site). In addition to a solid knowledge of tools (e.g. iTWO) and contracts, you should have experience in civil cost estimating.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Responsibility for effective, up-to-date and transparent cost management during project execution of international mid-to-large scale energy plants.
- Preparation and presentation of status meetings on regular basis. Comparison of sold, actual as well as forecasted figures. Notification and support for root cause analyses in the event of cost and quantity deviations
- Assessment and coordination of subcontractor’s invoices, quantity control in compliance with the contract
- Preparation and coordination of subcontracts (design, studies, construction works)
- Communication, clarification as well as negotiation with internal and external international stakeholders, such as project management, site supervisors, commodity management, national subsidiaries, contractors
- Supporting the assessment of variation orders from/by employer and/or subcontractors by estimation of civil costs (bills of quantity, civil services, labor and other related civil costs) in compliances with the affected contracts
- Post-calculation of completed projects
- Supporting for the identification and definition of risk and opportunities including assessment of their cost impacts during execution
What You Bring
- University or college degree of civil engineering or business engineering
- Preferable 3-5 years working experience for international turnkey projects (energy plants).
- Profound experience and skills in execution of civil works including purchasing and managing of subcontractors and calculating complex construction works
- Knowledge of economic principles as well as of core accounting and billing rules (nationally, internationally) and contract management • Experience in setting up technical contract documents (e.g. BOQs for subcontractor packages)
- Profound skills and experiences in ITWO baseline cost control software (or similar billing software)
- Willingness for international business travels, business fluent demeanor, good presentation techniques
- Fluent in Business German and English to assess technical contract documents and to lead technical negotiations, preferably also further language (Spanish, Italian, French)
