Category Development plays a huge role in doing this by helping create a joint vision to win and then supporting our teams to deliver on this through numerous activities across Brand and Private Label.
This position is as Category Development/ Category Management Lead within our high performing team. As the Category Development/ Management Lead you will be leading a team of up to 3 direct reports. We have significantly more category influence than our market shares would dictate, so require individuals who can quickly build rapport with customers and demonstrate the wider strategic thinking required to create engaging joint development plans.
Internally, this position is the expert in the category, providing the business with guidance on changing market/consumer/shopper dynamics and working cross-functionally to develop initiatives to realise optimal outcomes from these.

Here’s a sample of what you’ll get up to:
Generation of market, shopper & consumer insights:
o Responsibility for obtaining local household / retailer panel as well as ad-hoc consumer, shopper & market research incl. budget steering
o Development and compilation of management reportings based on household and retailer panel data
o Collaboration with international and local colleagues with regards to new shopper & consumer trends
o Organisation of trainings for internal colleagues on data sources, usage and interpretation
o Quality management of data from 3rd party suppliers
External Category Management:
o Intense cooperation with our top retailers for both our branded and private label business
o Execution of regular category management reviews with our retailers
o Regular analysis of market development and explanation of drivers, recommendations for portfolio, placement and promotions
o Analysis and support of ad hoc CM inquiries and CM projects for our top retailers
o Recommendations with the aim to realize retailers’ growth potentials in the category
Internal category consultancy
o Analysis of the market environment and drivers using generated market research data, retail/household panels, loyalty card and customer scanner data
o Interpretation of the data and recommendations for actions
o Projections for strategic planning
o Collaboration on trade stories for innovations
o Active participation in regular business reviews with top management
