The Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) is a research institute at TU Dresden and currently hosts over 20 research groups and more than 250 employees. Research at the CRTD focuses on regenerative and stem cell research ranging from basic research to application in a clinical-translational context. Researchers at the institute develop new approaches for diagnosis and therapy in the fields of haematology/immunology, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases and bone and tissue regeneration. The CRTD forms an innovative network with partners in science, administration, business and culture.
At the CRTD, the Electrophysiology Facility is looking for a
starting as soon as possible. This part-time position is initially limited until 30 June 2025, with the option to extend. Salary will be according to TV-L conditions and depends on your level of experience.
The electrophysiology facility provides recordings of currents from tissues and the analysis of gathered data. The position is an exciting opportunity for applicants who wish to work on neuronal data from different preparations (2-D cell culture, organoids, fresh tissue slices), understand how they are obtained and learn about their characteristics.
Your duties include
- support the development and improvement of existing data analysis pipelines with Plexon Offline Sorter, Neuro Explorer or software packages from Multi Channel Systems and Axion
- research assistance, esp. processing and analyzing electrophysiological data within the aforementioned pipelines
- given suitable prior knowledge (basic knowledge in programming), potentially also data processing with MatLab
Your profile:
- enrolled student at a university (preferably a degree related to neuroscience)
- enjoyment of computer and data intensive work and interest in automating data analysis processes
- willingness to explain conducted analysis to users of the facility or train users in running the data processing and analysis themselves
- very good written and spoken English
- advantageous: Experience programming in MatLab or Python
