Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a Head of Design with the vision to eventually scale a design team, while remaining hands-on to drive stellar product experiences. Specifically, we’re looking for someone who:

• Thrives in early-stage environments: You understand the dynamics of an early-stage, product-led company and are excited by the prospect of building from the ground up.
• Leads with design: You’ve led a design team before, setting the bar for design quality and influencing the entire organization. You enjoy mentoring and guiding others and are ready to scale the team when the time comes.
• Hands-On Designer & Builder: You’re a master of your craft, passionate about building products that users love, and you enjoy participating in every stage of the design process.
• Engages deeply with product: You deeply engage in product discussions, enjoy jamming on ideas, and are passionate about understanding and solving user needs.
• Thinks deeply and conceptually: You're a strong storyteller and deep thinker with an ability to conceptualize complex systems and information architecture, influencing decisions across all levels.
• Bridges design and engineering: You view both disciplines as interconnected. While front-end coding skills are a bonus, your ability to partner with Product Engineers ensures designs are built with precision. Candidates with coding experience are particularly compelling to us, as our founding designer also codes.

Your Role at Passionfroot

This role is a dream for passionate designers who care about craft, precision, and pushing creative boundaries. We give you the freedom to experiment, express your vision, and shape the product with your unique taste.

In the short term (until Series A), you’ll be hands-on, working closely with a small design team and contributing directly to product development. After Series A, your focus will shift to scaling the design team and driving our ambitious vision forward as we grow.

In this role, you will:

• Manage and mentor our Founding Product Designer. After Series A, you’ll lead the scaling of the design team, hiring and developing a diverse group of designers.
• Collaborate closely with our C-level team to define what’s next for Passionfroot — as a product, a business, and a company. You’ll influence the company strategy through design.
