Tender Associate - Europe in Hamburg bei North Star Shipping

North Star, the UK’s leading offshore infrastructure support company, is growing across Europe. Our highly specialised and state-of-the-art vessels deliver support to Offshore Wind Farms during the construction and then the long-term maintenance across Europe. Having opened our Hamburg office in July 2023 we are looking to expand our team with a Tender Associate (m/f/d).

Role Responsibilities

Together with the commercial team you will create outstanding tender responses with high level of detail to all RFI, RFQ & ITT processes in the Offshore Wind Industry. You will be responsible to keep the Senior Management Team current and briefed on upcoming and ongoing tenders form the Hamburg office. Working with other departments of the organisation you will oversee the compilation, document control and delivery of tender packs within required deadlines. Your input to improve tender processes and document packs is highly valued and will be required on an ongoing basis. Identifying risks and opportunities within each tender will be part of your responsibility too.

Together with the commercial team you will provide a market leading service to customers and clients, occasionally you will join the team on trade fairs and client visits with a focus to grow your business knowledge and provide innovative solutions to future problems.

Dynamics365, PowerBi and MS-office will be your day-to-day software tools. Ideally you already have experience with those and will be able to give input in the further development of the software and to increase the knowledge through data use. Within the software you will track client engagements and ongoing opportunities.

Candidate Experience

You are in possession of a maritime related degree (e.g. Schifffahrtskaufmann), which is preferred but not essential and you have gained some work experience already.

Tender preparation experience, excellent Microsoft PowerPoint skills and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics365 is of advantage.

Tenders come with a deadline. Working against deadlines with strong organisational and planning skills is required. You care about the highest detail and have a passion for delivering high quality work. The tender packs you produce while working with the team stand out amongst the competition and reflect our approach to delivering an outstanding service to our clients.

We’d like you to speak to customers and hence there will be occasional business travel within Europe required.

Knowledge of the offshore (wind) vessel space and the ability to assist with the operational vessel fleet in Northern Europe is an advantage.

Since our colleagues are based in the UK and our clients are located all over Europe, fluent business English is a must.

Flat hierarchies: You will work directly with the Senior Management Team and speak to our C-Suite on a regular basis.

Home office and flexible working hours: We will provide the necessary IT equipment (Laptop, Mobile phone, Headset, Monitor, Mouse & Keyboard) to set up your home office. Our usual home office days are Mondays & Fridays and we aim to be at the office on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week.

Central office location: Our office is in the heart of Hamburg. Located only 5 walking minutes away from the central station. Fresh organic fruits and other refreshments are provided.
