HSE Expert (m|f|d)

As an HSE Expert, you'll ensure that the VHH organization is operating in accordance with environmental guidelines and objectives. Your role will mainly involve examining corporate activities to determine where improvements can be made and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation across the organization.
Your remit focus will be, but not limited to:
- Ensuring and implementing compliance with all legal requirements and guidelines relating to occupational Health Safety & Environment
- HAZMAT & Asbestos
Your Tasks
- Conduct safety audits, both internal and external, and use Voith’s internal reporting system eVAP system, for Observation/Intervention reporting.
- Lead, develop and implement an environmental policy, strategy, and action plan to ensure sustainable corporate development.
- Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with EU, DE, UK, and international regulations and legislations.
- Contact relevant authorities such as local authorities, public bodies, etc.
- Follow up with the HSE-related incidents/accidents reporting, investigations, closure of action items, and exchange of experience.
- Carry out Environment Impact Assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organization’s environmental risks and financial costs.
- Train staff (m/f/d) at all levels on HS & environmental issues and responsibilities.
- Act as a technical advisor (m/f/d) for the management of asbestos.
- Plan, prepare for and respond to hazmat emergencies and incidents.
- Update the HAZMAT catalog, MSDS, COSHH assessments, and Operating instructions for hazardous substances using the Quentic system.
Your Profile
- Ausbildung zur Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (Sifa) is a MUST.
- Completed studies in the field of safety technology, HSE management, environmental sciences, or environmental technology or a comparable qualification
- ISO 14001; ISO 9001,45001 Auditor/Lead Auditor is an advantage.
- Display a high level of computer literacy.
- Show commercial awareness and an understanding of business.
- Be self-motivated and able to motivate staff (m/f/d) at all levels.
- Business fluent in written and spoken German and English.
- Willingness to make regular business trips (up to 30 %).
