Joining the IGP will give you the big picture of Infineon: Over the course of 18 months, you have at least three different assignments – one of them abroad. By working in different departments, you can get an idea of what suits you best. From the beginning, you’ll have a chance to roll up your sleeves and take on challenging tasks. Besides that, you will have the opportunity to build strong global relationships across sites, functions and departments, and to meet the global IGP community face to face and at virtual conferences. And if that isn’t enough, you’ll have permanent employee status from the start.
As an IGP Procurement Trainee you will work on your own projects in the different areas of procurement and with our stakeholders. You are actively involved in day-to-day business and projects, as well as benefiting from professional and individual guidance. During your assignments, you’ll explore the competence center of procurement e.g. Silicon Foundries, Front End materials or Central services with an international perspective, take responsibility for managing spend across a range of different categories and get involved with global projects. The program is designed to prepare you for a position within Procurement at Infineon.
Your program consists of the following elements:
- At the Munich Headquarter, you will start the International Graduate Program and get an overview of the Infineon global procurement organization and experience the collaboration between different areas of procurement
- At least one international assignment of 6 months either at our production sites (i.e. Villach, Dresden, Kulim, Melaka or Austin) or at the Asian Headquarter to cover the different areas of our global procurement organization (i.e. Front End materials, Back End materials or Central services) and to build up your own network
- Be part of the strategic procurement team and source global materials and services
- Take over the role of the buyer and interact with Infineon suppliers
- Prepare price, RFQ and contract negotiations and relevant analysis , supplier evaluations as well as business and performance reviews with suppliers
- Contribute in global procurement projects & strategic initiatives and take the opportunity to encourage your personal and professional growth
- Be part of the digital transformation of procurement and also utilize the opportunities of digitalization and convert data into valuable insights
- You will be mentored and guided personally and technically
- Extend your semiconductor manufacturing know-how by visiting production sites
You are curious and interested in a broad range of topics and always try to get new insights and ideas. You don’t expect things to be handed to you on a silver platter. You question existing assumptions and love change – which is guaranteed in the semiconductor industry. You are pragmatic and analytic, because we need both at Infineon. Standing still is not your thing. You find inspiration in working with different kinds of people, collaborating with your colleagues on the big picture.
Plus, you fulfill the following qualifications:
- A degree (+4 years of studies) in business studies, economics, industrial engineering, business informatics or similar
- Already gained first international experience during your academic program through internships or a semester abroad (minimum 3 months)
- Practical experience in the areas of procurement, supply chain, logistics or semiconductor (i.e., through internships during your studies)
- A methodological and analytical mindset and the ability to understand, summarize and present complex topics
- Good self-organization, time management and coordination skills
- Passion for innovation and change management
- Ability to build strategic and long-lasting partnerships
- Fluent in English with good communication and presentation skills ( German as a plus)
