What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a motivated and talented individual to work in Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg Operations Control Center that monitors and manages the factory in real time. This person will be responsible for monitoring the flow of product thru the different shops of the factory to ensure that production output is being maximized. Their goal is to be looking ahead to prevent issues and when issues occur, stepping in and working with all required groups (Shop Leaders, Production Control (material flow), Master Scheduler, New Product Introduction, Material Planning, Logistics etc.) to develop the action plan and lead implementation to facilitate quick recovery to minimize impact on overall performance. This position requires to work on shifts including weekend and night shifts.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor the flow of cars and parts through the entire factory to ensure they are achieving the plans set for them
- Adjusting the plan for production shops based on downstream conditions.
- Understanding the bottlenecks in operations and aligning resources accordingly
- The technician is responsible for managing the near-term plans, as required, to maximize overall factory output. For example, this includes:
- Managing the build mix of various models into Paint hour by hour to stay tightly coordinated with the mix of models going into the different General Assembly lines o Adjusting the sequencing of cars starting into General Assembly based on near term material constraints (or other factors)
- Changing the plan for a shop based on downstream conditions (stopping the build in Body in White early due to conditions in the Paint shop)
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ Years Hands on experience in manufacturing/production, e.g. as Maintenance or Manufacturing Technician
- Completed vocational training/apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic or similar
- Microsoft office experience (Excel in data processing)
- Fluent in English (at least C1 level) and German, if no German then willingness to learn
- Open-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude is a must
- Self-motivation and resourcefulness are required
- Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision is required
- Being able to deal with multiple stressful situations at the same time
- Strong work ethic required
