The Red Hat EMEA Solutions & Technology Practice is looking for an Engagement Lead to join us in Germany (or EMEA). In this role, you will help our customers learn to build software the open source way and adopt the principles behind open organizations. The Open Innovation Labs brand is part of the Solutions & Technology Practice and is all about Red Hat open sourcing its own open culture and engineering DNA. You will help us to create an environment designed to stimulate innovation in an intensive, immersive fashion. To achieve that, you will use open source principles and apply them to either rapidly building new software or modernizing existing applications, creating tangible business outcomes and high performing teams. A main offering you will be working with is the Red Hat Open Innovation Labs residency, a four to twelve week residency-style consulting engagement. Small cross-functional customer teams are matched 1:1 with Red Hat experts to accelerate application development and open culture, which is at the heart of digital transformation. In this role, you will be the heartbeat of an Open Innovation Labs residency. During a residency our customers learn to build software the open source way and adopt the principles behind open organizations. You will be an experienced coach who has lead transformations and can coach and nurture fledgling product owners and product teams. You will not only act as the agile coach in our residencies but are also involved in the wider transformation our customers are going through. Our residencies serve as the catalyst of these transformations so you should feel comfortable talking to C-level executives about how we can support their business goals as well as running workshops that support these transformation initiatives.
As an Engagement Lead, you'll lead the delivery team's implementation, ensuring customer success. You will have control and oversight of a residency throughout the life cycle from kickoff to the successful transition of the customer’s product team back into their own environment, ensuring it conforms to customer expectations and contractual agreements.
This role will focus on the German market and requires an excellent proficiency of the German language.
What you will do:
- Build interpersonal relationships with other Red Hat departments and act as a trusted advisor to major Red Hat customers;
- Influence and impassion clients to embrace Red Hat’s open approach as a means of transforming not only what they do but how they do it;
- Be the agile coach for Open Innovation Labs residencies. Including, residency planning and management, process management and improvement, team building and customer mentoring;
- Coach residency product teams (agile coaches, product owners, scrum masters, developers, and operations) to embrace agile product development and DevOps practices, identify and resolve impediments; track continuous improvement;
- Coach clients on facilitation of organizational change;
- Handle escalations;
- Work with customers on initiatives to support transformations across business units;
- Develop our current thinking through new approaches to change how organizations work and teams deliver products;
- Coach the Red Hat Sales & Services team, especially our project managers, to greater understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
What you will bring:
- Understanding of the Red Hat business strategy and economic model; good business insight and judgment;
- Solid experience in customer-facing positions;
- Knowledge of project management processes and experience with revenue-based project reporting;
- 5+ years of experience working in a high performing agile product team with a coaching mentality;
- Extensive experience delivering projects using agile or kanban methodology;
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to management and C Level;
- Understanding of User Centered Design and how it applies to customers embarking on transformational journeys;
- Understanding of automation, Testing and DevOps practices and how they are key to sustainable product development;
- Willingness to travel weekly to client locations throughout EMEA for the duration of a residency (we usually work 4 days onsite and 1 day remote). The yearly anticipated onsite work effort is 50%;
- Excellent proficiency of the German language in speech and writing.
