The Position
Your department and team
The Gene Therapy Data & Analytics team in Penzberg is part of Roche’s Gene Therapy technical development function, PTCG. We shape PTCG’s digital system landscape to maximize analytical capabilities and implement data science use cases along the entire gene therapy value chain. An emerging focus of our team is the application of bioinformatics tools for Omics technologies (metabolomics and proteomics) to gain insights into dynamic molecular changes, thereby enhancing product understanding.
Your host team is located in Penzberg and currently consists of seven data scientists, data engineers, bioinformaticians and business translators.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- You will be involved in the data analysis of several Omics projects aimed at enhancing product understanding within the rAAV value chain.
- You will support our team in creating dashboards to visually track machine performance and implement performance metrics for outlier detection.
Your profile
- You are currently enrolled at university (studying bioinformatics) or in a gap year between degrees (please find more details about enrollment and gap year below)
- You are highly proficient in programming with R and Python and first experience in software development using CI/CD and Docker
- You are familiar with basic data analysis and machine learning concepts
- Previous experience in analyzing omics data (especially proteomics and/or metabolomics) is a plus
- You are proficient in English

This internship is aimed at students (m/f/d) who are currently enrolled for the entire period of the internship or, alternatively, at people in a gap year of a maximum of one year (between Bachelor's and Master's studies), where it can be proven in writing at which university/college and exactly when (month/year) within a year the studies will be continued.

As of now or according to agreement. Ideally for 4-6 months in Penzberg. Completely remote work is possible.
