At the Faculty of Education, the Institute of Education invites applications for the
Chair (W2) of Primary Education / German Education
to be filled at the earliest possible date.
We are looking for a professional (m/f/x) who will be responsible for primary education with particular
consideration for academic studies and didactic foundations in the subject area of teaching German
and who will intermesh teaching, research and school practice in this field. The chair is responsible
for organizing and coordinating the State Examination Teacher Training in the degree program
German for Elementary Schools. One of the focal points of teaching is the acquisition of written
language in elementary instruction. You should take a particular interest in the promotion of early-
career researchers. You will work together with the other Chairs of Primary Education to work on the
continuous development of the Education and Research Lab Primary School (LuFo). We expect you to
take active part in the Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB) and in
interdisciplinary work as part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at TUD as well as in
academic self-administration.
We are looking for a dynamic, committed and highly responsible professional who will inspire our
students through high motivation and didactic skills in the area of teaching. We expect you to
contribute to shaping our faculty’s profile for the future through relevant experience in research and
procurement of third-party funding. In addition to the general requirements applicants must fulfil the
employment qualification requirements of § 59 of the Institutions of Higher Education Act in the Free
State of Saxony (SächsHSG).
