The work schedule for this position is:
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Incumbent may be required to travel approximately 3-5 times per year for a total of 20 days to make long-distance trips to other regions within Germany that require overnight stays.
As an Information System Center (ISC) Helpdesk Computer Operator, the incumbent is responsible for greeting customers and addressing issues with hardware and software, to include password resets and mobile device support. The incumbent escalates tickets as necessary to system analysts or Washington representatives.
The incumbent also offers IT Helpdesk support for all customers and assists the IT Director with various administrative tasks. These tasks include submitting Purchase Requests (PRs), ordering supplies, tracking time and attendance, managing the section's vacation calendar, and maintaining compliance with regulations by organizing and filling out section's relevant forms and reports in order to remain compliant with U.S. Embassy regulations.
The incumbent serves as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for IT inventories located within U.S. Embassy Berlin and U.S. Consulates in Leipzig and Hamburg, managing and tracking all IT assets. The incumbent is responsible for resolving issues related to shortages, overages, locations, and disposals. Furthermore, provides assistance to all U.S. Embassy computer operators, acting as the main POC for inventory matters. In addition, the Helpdesk Computer Operator oversees the receipt of IT equipment, entering it into the inventory tracking system, conducting spot checks, and monitoring assets through annual inventory until end-of-life and final disposal.

Two years of general office support experience utilizing computers and software with experience in systems implementation, network administration, helpdesk technician, or desktop system support.
Two years (or completion of other equivalent post-secondary educational program or degree) of post-secondary education (vocational education, associate's degree or college/university studies) is required.
Furthermore, must have one certification of either A+, Network+, MCSA, MCSE, CSMA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent.

Fluent English language skills (Speaking/Reading/Writing) are required.
