Postdoc in Lattice Field Theory bei Forschungszentrum Jülich
The Nuclear and Particle Physics Research Group in the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) is looking to recruit postdocs in the research field of lattice quantum field theory. Jülich is renowned for its world-class supercomputers, the installation of an Exascale machine is currently underway. Also there are several experimental quantum computing devices. Juelich researchers can have exclusive access to parts of these machines. The Research Group is working on projects both at zero temperature (g-2, meson/baryon properties) and finite temperature (phase diagram, axions). Joining one of these is welcome, but not mandatory. We also have an ongoing lattice field theory project on a recently installed quantum annealing device. The group has strong ties to the particle physics groups in Marseille (France) and in Budapest (Hungary). We have regular meetings, on-line and presence, with these colleagues.
Your Job:
- Developing efficient methods for lattice field theory problems
- Implementing these methods on highly-scalable supercomputer architectures
- Applying for and taking care of supercomputer resources
- Coaching of bachelor and master students Publishing results in physics journals and presenting them at international conferences
All these tasks are in collaboration with the scientists at JSC and in the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal lattice.
