Student trainee in the area of Int. Supply & Customs starting November 2023 in Düsseldorf bei Mercedes Benz AG

Our Outbound and Global Logistics (VAN/OSO) department is the link between the logistics departments of the VAN plants and covers a wide range of topics. In addition to responsibility for demand and capacity management, this also includes support for international supply chains, as well as outbound logistics.

The "International Supply and Customs" team at the Düsseldorf site consists of 20 motivated and team-oriented employees. In our team we attach great importance to a good team culture with mutual support, trust and appreciative cooperation. We offer a high degree of autonomous work and creative freedom and look forward to your flexibility in order to meet the requirements and dynamics of international delivery traffic. Mobile working is, of course, a regular feature at our company.

Together we design and monitor the logistics processes for the supply of production material to the foreign plants of Mercedes-Benz Vans in Charleston and Buenos Aires as well as to our partner in Tiaret (Algeria). As part of this task, we manage, among other things, the external logistics service providers nominated for the respective supply chain, who handle the packaging and shipping of the production material on our behalf, as well as the transport service providers involved.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Actively helping to shape the digitalization of international supply chains
• Supporting the implementation of new processes and systems
• Analysis and evaluation of global logistics concepts and supply chains
• Calculation, testing and monitoring of logistics concepts
• Development of automation solutions
• Participation in the management of logistics service providers and shipping companies

Ideally you bring the following with you:

• Degree in business informatics, (industrial) engineering with a focus on logistics or similar studies
• Solid knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of Spanish and/or French is an advantage
• Confident handling of MS-Office
• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate or low code programming is an advantage
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Intercultural competence
