Scientific Officer of Industrial Liaison Office - Part-time 20 hours per week in Hamburg bei European XFEL

The position

For the ATTRACT-1b project which is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme (Grant Agreement number 101071694), the ILO scientific officer will take care of:

• Liaison with European and national Research Infrastructures, academia and RTOs
• Supporting the active monitoring of part of Open Call funded projects
• Organization of workshops industry-academia on topic related to intellectual property and analysis of the private-public collaboration
• Support activities of outreach and dissemination
• Deliverable reporting (financial and technical)

In addition, support the Group Leader in:

• Promoting of the European XFEL for new industrial collaborations
• Stimulating the relationship with other networks and institutes to facilitate the reciprocal promotion, in particular in the area of the light sources
• Managing of activities of third party funded projects, even as task leader

Requirements

• Academic degree in scientific or engineering field
• English is the working language, hence very good English skills are necessary, in addition proficiency in German is indispensable for this position
• Proven experience in writing technical documents
• Excellent skills using standard office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Past experience in at least one patent filing and in prior art analysis for invention disclosure
• Knowledge of patentability criteria
• Proven work experience both in industrial environment and in academic environment
• Proven work experience in a scientific environment, preferred in synchrotron radiation or FEL light sources
• Proven work experience in a third party funded project
• Proven work experience in an international environment
• Excellent organization skills
