The Manager of Learning and Development (f/m/d) will play a crucial role in designing and delivering high-impact learning experiences across Contentful. This individual will be responsible for facilitating a variety of training programs, both live and virtually, to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and engagement. The role will require global travel to Contentful offices and events to deliver in-person training sessions.
While this position does not have direct reports, it requires a high degree of collaboration with various stakeholders across the organization to ensure the successful execution of learning initiatives.
This role requires frequent short-term travel to the United States. Candidates must be eligible to obtain the necessary travel documentation, including a U.S. visa or ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization), as applicable. We will support the successful candidate in navigating the travel requirements and obtaining the necessary documentation.
- Training Facilitation:
- Deliver engaging, interactive training sessions both in person and via Zoom, ensuring the content is relevant and aligned with business needs.
- Facilitate both soft skills and technical skills training with the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.
- Maintain a high level of participant engagement and satisfaction during training sessions.
- Global Travel:
- Travel to Contentful offices and events globally to facilitate in-person training sessions.
- Coordinate logistics for on-site training sessions, including room setup, technology requirements, and materials.
- Content Development:
- Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to design and update training materials, including presentations, guides, and online modules.
- Create highly technical training content in various formats, such as eLearning, on-demand, video-instructor-led training (VILT), instructor-led training (ILT), blended learning, and job aids.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with HR, department heads, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and develop training solutions.
- Communicate regularly with global teams to understand local training requirements and ensure consistency in learning experiences.
- Technology Utilization:
- Leverage learning technologies and platforms to deliver and track training programs.
- Ensure that all training sessions, whether live or virtual, are recorded and accessible for future reference.
- Measurement and Reporting:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback and performance metrics.
- Analyze complex data to make informed decisions and provide regular reports on training outcomes and recommendations for improvement.
- Project Management:
- Manage end-to-end project/program management, including conception, initiation, planning, execution, performance monitoring, and project closure.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-changing environment.
- Coaching and Facilitation:
- Facilitate coaching sessions for multiple levels, including team members and managers.
- Preserve and adapt under pressure, maintaining a positive and professional "customer-focused" attitude.
- 10+ years of experience in Learning and Development, with a strong emphasis on the facilitation of both soft skills and technical skills training.
- Proven ability to deliver training in both in-person and virtual environments.
- Sharp analytical skills with experience interpreting complex data for informed decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, including interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner with key stakeholders, global counterparts, and executives in a matrixed environment.
- Professional project management experience, including end-to-end project/program management.
- Demonstrated experience in creating highly technical training in a variety of formats.
- Strong ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-changing environment.
- Ability to travel internationally as required, up to 30% of the time.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and virtual training tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or equivalent experience.
