A Snapshot of Your Day
You are overseeing the overarching planning, coordination, and execution of the outbound logistics in various global execution projects within Project Entity of Siemens Energy. You are meeting with your department heads to discuss project timelines and resource allocation, review performance metrics and KPIs, and provide strategic direction for the logistics teams. Additionally, you participate in project review meetings to discuss project progress and address any issues that arise. You collaborate with your peers to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives. Overall, the role involves a mix of strategic planning, team management and development, and client engagement.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Managing the Global Function "Project Logistics" with administrative and professional leadership responsibility for approx. 150 employees using the established leadership instruments and methods (Siemens Energy Leadership Essentials)
- Recruiting, leading, and mentoring employees in the defined scope of responsibility, to ensure that these employees are well trained, fully motivated and remain successful in the long term
- Actively supporting and steering purchasing strategies including supplier development for logistics services to achieve the maximum possible productivity and achieve set cost targets
- Adapting and implementing efficient organizational forms, sequences, and processes, to ensure that full utilization of rationalization potentials is achieved under consideration of business administration interrelationships and safety requirements
- Proactively coordinating all task-relevant transactions, to serve as a competent partner who promptly implements process and project optimization measures in dealings with all internal and external customers, interface partners, and suppliers
- Deriving targets for the sector and departments from division and subdivision targets based on the forecast market and business situations, to enable measuring, reporting, steering, and if necessary, coaching based on overall results
- Planning, optimizing, steering, and controlling the processes and results relating to implementation and execution of cost optimized and innovative transport concepts including logistics strategy for new markets and future products, so as to increase the EVA achieved in one’s field of responsibility
What You Bring
- Completion of training as a Business Administration Engineer or Logistics Specialist followed by several years of professional experience in various logistics assignments
- Long years of experience in the field of transport execution in international project business
- Leading employees with various salary grades (non-exempt, exempt, management) at several international company locations with responsibility for financial results
- Experience in residing and working in foreign countries, combined with accumulated expertise in interacting with other regions and mentalities
- Willingness to travel (worldwide approx. 30%)
