Testing & Validation Lead in Berlin bei Vay

The role:

We are looking for a Testing & Validation Lead to own and define our hardware & software test strategy, establishing the plans and processes required to ensure reliable, safe operation of our Vay vehicles throughout design, testing, and real-world deployments.

Responsibilities In close collaboration with engineering teams:

• Coordination of all testing & validation activities (hardware & software) within Vay
• Owning the overall test strategy and corresponding test plans for all components (hardware & software)
• Define required test suites (tools, processes & methods) across our testing & validation levels
• Ensure and drive compliance with V-Model processes and standards
• Coordinate all test & validation activities and ensure that tests are run efficiently (no duplications, ratio of manual/automated tests, transparent reporting and utilisation of standard practices)
• Track & Report the test & validation progress
• Work with the engineering teams to ensure that test cycles are synchronized across all domains and people accountable for product quality and have a transparent view for consequential decision-making
• Define test and coverage metrics and track progress towards product acceptance criteria
• Prioritize effective resource allocation across all validation functions
• Participate in preparation of quality assessments, reports, and metrics formulating go-no go statements based on reports and metrics, test progress and defect status.

The profile:

• Hands-on with testing activities with some years of experience
  • Responsible and/or accountable for test activities
  • Written test cases + test implementation
  • Developed test strategy to for products with high complexity
• Testing experience specifically with either:
  • Vehicle system level testing experience, or
  • Component level, including knowledge of HIL design and implementation
• Release management experience: Designing release process, executing and shipping on high frequency
• Passionate about future mobility and Vay's mission and product
• Be on-site in Berlin with our testing team
• A high level of motivation and drive to get things done, hands on
• Organised and have good working structure
• Start-up mentality, able to be pragmatic and working with budget & time constraints

Nice to have:

• Experience with software development (hands on)
• People management experience
• Component level testing experience and below in the V-Model
• Startup experience
• Experience applying ASPICE, ISO26262 and ISO9000 standards
