Chemist/Engineer in the field of product development & technical service
Technical Service & Development Manager (m/f/d)
at the Olin production site Rheinmünster (near Baden-Baden) or Baltringen (Ulm region)
The Technical Service & Development Manager reports to the R&D Leader EMEAI. The TS&D Manager is responsible for the technical development, technical support of customer projects with the aim of generating a long-term competitive advantage for the epoxy business. He also acts internally as a technical expert for product groups and for the qualification of new raw materials.
What challenges can you expect?
- Development of Research & Development projects in the EMEAI region in close cooperation with the marketing organization and development teams from other regions
- Act as technical service for customers in the EMEAI region; conduct customer visits, lead technical workshops, trainings, presentations and provide on-site support
- Act as a coach in terms of hands-on experiment design/problem solving to execute complex projects both regionally and globally
- Interface with Marketing and Sales organization to ensure alignment of business strategy, design innovation projects, co-lead (with Marketing) through the NPI stage gate process (product launch within standardized processes) and commercialize new products/technologies or new applications for existing technology
- Cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
- You create project documentation and communications such as internal reporting/presentations as well as external publications/presentations
- You are an expert in all aspects of product technology and applications in multidisciplinary project teams
- Willingness to travel regularly
How do you convince us?
- University or college degree in the field of chemistry/technical chemistry, materials science, process engineering or comparable
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of process and/or product development, production, technical customer support, desirable in the field of coating systems
- Specialized knowledge in the fields of process and/or product development; independent project work especially in the field of epoxy
- Relevant experience with regard to chemical technical processes of industrial chemical plants
- In-depth knowledge of relevant safety, environmental protection and workplace guidelines and laws
- Knowledge of common MS Office applications and SAP
- Independent working style and a high degree of initiative
- Strong analytical skills and a service-oriented approach to work
- You combine a high level of assertiveness and persuasiveness with enthusiasm and strong implementation skills. You want to make a substantial contribution to the company's success with your professional work
- Strong communication and management skills; the ability to work in teams and task forces and to lead them on a global level is critical
- You are able to structure complex challenges, have an entrepreneurial mindset and find a good balance between user needs and sustainable value contribution
- Fluent language skills in English and German round off your profile
