Who You Are

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our IT Engineering Service at ESOC.

Telespazio Germany has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to expand our existing team, which provides a wide range of engineering, project management and process management services to the European Space Agency, at ESOC in Darmstadt. This service shall be incorporated within the MOI-IT Core Engineering Service Catalogue.

The primary areas of responsibility for this service are related to the coordination of IT activities related to space missions.

What You Will Focus on

• Acting as the primary interface towards all the key project stakeholders
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that quality requirements are met
• Leading Project Teams
• Liaising with Third Party internal and external suppliers
• Project Schedule and Resource Planning
• Financial Project Planning and Control
• Support the definition of Project Requirements and manage the scope of projects
• Project Risk Management and Risk Mitigation
• Project Administration and Contract Management
• Support to Pre-sales activities, including Proposal preparation and writing
• Sharing Project Management experience and knowledge across company

What You Bring

• Proven experience in managing IT / Software Development or Maintenance Projects (ideally within Space or Aerospace Industry)
• Solid IT Technical Background
• Experience in working with multicultural teams
• Experience in subcontractor management
• Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel

Essentially

• University degree or similar in a technical discipline (preferably space industry)
• Strong goal-oriented, planning capabilities and a pronounced customer focus
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in a diverse team environment
• Ability to understand and accomplish goals in line with project objectives
• Experience in managing client expectations and resolving possible conflicts
• Strong delivery focused, result-oriented approach
• Proven experience in working with different project management methodologies and frameworks
• Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills
• Committed to and focused on continuous improvement

Desirably

• Experience with Agile project management methodologies
• Good understanding of IT Architecture Design
• Practical experience within the European Space Industry Environment from cooperation with major organisations and prime industry stakeholders
• Practical experience with delivering solutions based on Space industry standard products like EGS-CC, SCOS2000, SIMSAT
• Experience with Space engineering standards, e.g. ECSS, CCSDS
• Practical experience with Space Ground Segment-, Ground Stations- and Planning Systems
• Certified Project Management Qualifications
