Student Assistant (w/m/d) Numerical Simulations in Hydrogel-based Bioprinting
Starting October 2024, with 6 to 8 hours per week!
The initial appointment will be at least 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

Join our research team focused on exploring the mechanobiological effects of hydrogel-based bioprinting. Our project aims to quantify the forces and stresses within the bioprinter through a series of bioprinting experiments coupled with numerical simulations.
This research is central to advancing our understanding of cell behavior under mechanical stress and contributes to collaborative research efforts within our institute.

Key Responsibilities
- Rheological Characterization
- Conduct rheological measurements of cell-laden hydrogels using a cone-and-plate rheometer.
- Numerical Simulations
- Run simulations using ANSYS to determine mechanical effects such as shear stress within the bioprinter nozzle.
- Data Acquisition
- Gather and analyze material data of bioinks used in the experiments.
Your Profile
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Experience with rheological equipment and/or simulation software (preferably ANSYS) is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in data analysis.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

The salary is based on the guidelines for student and research assistants.
