We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a General Manager within our Leadership team to help support our Hydraulics business at our Pacoma branch in Eschwege, Germany. Pacoma is one of the world's leading suppliers of hydraulic cylinders. Our cylinders are extensively used in the construction machinery industry, the automobile industry, and in engineering applications as well as in logistics and material handling. Furthermore our cylinders can also be used in agricultural and maritime applications etc. Pacoma stands out with its individual designs, its consistently superior global quality and its high-capacity production facilities. Our factory in Eschwege, Germany, can singularly handle a quarter million units per year working at normal capacity. With the opening of a dynamic modern facility in China in 2011, Pacoma is even better positioned to serve its customers with high output and convenient logistics. Our success is the product of decades of experience. Over the course of more than 40 years, we have developed, designed and produced hydraulic cylinders of nearly every possible type. As the General Manager will have direct responsibility for Production, Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Industrial Engineering personnel.

So, what will you do as General Manager?

Representation of the company in legal and commercial matters
focuses on the needs of our customers and the safety of our employees as well as the financial stability of the company.
Active interaction and representative representation of the company with our customers, our suppliers, within the Group and in the regional environment
Managing and monitoring economic performance with a view to increasing the company's profitability and efficiency
Responsible for continually improving safety culture, processes, and outcomes.
Maintain high levels of productivity, asset utilization and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining excellent quality.
Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
Monitor effectiveness of operations and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
Recruit, manage and develop factory staff. // Is able to recognize talents, bring about an optimal team composition and lead, motivate and develop his employees
Continuous improvement in Safety, Productivity, Planning, Quality, Maintenance and overall performance.
Develop and/or refine methods and metrics to track and report productivity, quality, and performance of production activities.
Confer and cooperate with HR regarding employee issues or grievances.
Up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
Systematic problem-solving methods – 8D, Six Sigma
Maintenance system / TPM practices

To be successful you'll need:

Experience leading a high-volume OEM production environment Production team.
Proven work experience as a General Manager and leader.
Deep experience / expertise on implementation of LEAN principles
Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
Familiarity with industrial CNC manufacturing equipment and technical expertise
Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand planning, inventory, and stewardship processes
Computer literacy and analytical skills using Excel.
Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
BS degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
