Position Summary:

Reporting to the product development manager, the Drafter is responsible for supporting the engineers of the team with the detail drawings related to the on-going developments.

Working for the European product development team, in an agile and hands-on manufacturing and testing environment, involved in a variety of projects but with main focus on centrifugal and reciprocating cryogenic pumps, closely with the US-headquartered Engineering team.

The present list of duties is not exhaustive as it defines the minimum duties and responsibilities assigned to the position. Satisfactory performance incorporates additional activities, whose nature depends on the individual’s competencies and interests.

Essential Functions:

Mechanical engineering:

• 3-D modeling in SolidWorks of pump components, also create assemblies,
• Structural design of simple supporting structures and piping,
• Select mechanical components and produce the related justifying documents (provide calculation notes using existing templates),
• Issue assembly drawings,
• Issue manufacturing drawings for Production, including detailed assembling instructions and definition of the mechanical fits,
• Check the same drawings before submittal to the engineers’ approval,
• Select or design the special tools needed for assembly and repair,
• Create / modify bills of materials,
• Other duties as assigned that are broadly in line with the above and key objectives.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / BTS CPI / Licence Pro CPI
• Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and test environment.
• Proficiency in CAD Software (SolidWorks is preferred), 3D-modeling and 2-D detailing of components & assemblies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite,
• Proficient with assembling and manufacturing tolerance classes.
• 3-years’ experience in the design of rotating equipment or engineered machines.
• Used to work with an ERP system,
• Professional understanding of written English language: procedures, drawings, emails.
• Verbal directions are given in English and / or French.
• Mechanical Engineering culture,
• Well-organized, pragmatic, accurate and reliable team-worker, high work ethic.

Other well appreciated knowledge:

• Able to create Excel calculation forms,
• Knowledge of pressure vessels and piping, ASME, PED, Atex, API610 or API685, etc.
• Basics of German language.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
