We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our innovative life science company focused on targeted drug delivery solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining the electrical components of our advanced respiratory drug-delivery devices. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving patient outcomes through technology and has a strong background in electrical engineering and medical device development. In this exciting role the Electrical Engineer will have responsibility for the product usability, creation of Hardware Architecture including PCB-Design and the related risk management amongst other topics as part of the internal new products development team.
- Design, develop, and test electrical circuits and components for Class 2a electronic drug delivery devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and clinical experts, to develop integrated solutions.
- Create and review detailed electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Select and evaluate components to ensure reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with medical standards.
- Develop and implement test plans for electrical systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as IEC 60601(ISO 13485, ISO 14971)
- Unit and module testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, ensuring the safety and performance of medical devices.
- Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA and ISO 13485.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to ensure robust and reliable designs.
- Document design processes, test results, and technical specifications for regulatory submissions.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in electrical engineering and medical device development.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification with a focus on electrical engineering.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably within the Med Tech or medical device industry.
- Proficiency in designing and developing analog and digital circuits, including microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with PCB design and layout tools, such as Altium Designer or Eagle.
- Familiarity with medical device development standards, such as IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and FDA regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on patient safety and device reliability.
- Experience in designing (piezoelectric) oscillator circuits
- Excellent communication (German and English) and teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools, such as SPICE or MATLAB.
- Understanding of wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) and power management is highly desirable.
- Portfolio or examples of previous electrical engineering projects, particularly those relevant to medical devices or respiratory technology.
- Willingness to work on-site in Munich (no 100% remote work, no freelance contracts, part-time possible)
- Valid permit to work in the European Union necessary
