CARIAD delivers automotive software across multiple vehicle segments for the Volkswagen Group including high-volume, premium, and luxury vehicles. With our new SDV Hub, we are venturing out and creating software-defined vehicles (SDV) of the future that are transforming the way our Group conceptualizes, designs, and engineers our vehicles. Together with experts from Audi and Volkswagen, the SDV Hub will support the development of an SDV architecture and software platform that will enable the ecosystem in a collaborative and fast-growing environment. For the core of the SDV Hub, we are looking to work with technical experts across all levels that are ready to rethink the way we do software for our future cars.
We, the E/E architecture team for the SDV hub, oversee the electric and electronic behavior and interaction among the vehicle components.
Our daily mission involves shaping a competitive and contemporary mobility experience for our upcoming vehicle generations, all built upon a software-defined vehicle foundation.
- Design and development of cutting edge electrical architectures within the SDV Hub
- Take part in the implementation of proof of concept (PoC) studies on HW/SW architecture with short iteration cycles, building upon the PoCs of others
- Communicate to leadership any new findings and details for consideration, discuss potential solutions
- Create block diagrams, defining connections between components
- Work in cross-functional teams, integrate create solutions, support the verification system (HIL, XIL, reference setups) and drive verifications
- Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams, including electrical component owners, wire harness groups, controls and ECU hardware
- Lead, train and mentor entry-level engineers in areas of technical expertise through the execution of tasks and deliverables
- Take initiative to own technical issues as they arise and coordinate with team members or other teams to drive toward resolution
- Bachelors (Masters preferred) studies in electrical, computer engineering or any other comparable field of study
- Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage energy systems and it’s expected interactions within E/E Architecture
- Ideally minimum of eight years of hardware and/or software development experience
- Proven track record in shipping high volume products
- Knowledge in homologation, testing, integration/diagnostics
- Understanding of vehicle communication networks, such as CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet
- Experience with processes involving design and process failure mode and effect analysis (D/PFMEA), control plans, functional safety (FuSa), hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA), root cause analysis, impact analysis, change requests, and technical reporting
- Fluency in English and German would be a plus
- Strong technical communication and reporting skills, proactivity and hands-on mentality
- Willingness to travel occasionally
