Your future plans
As a Design Engineer (m/f/d) you will work closely with the RWE project development teams to create an optimal battery system design to support RWE's ambitions in the storage market. You will work with a talented international team to develop both stand-alone and hybrid storage solutions.

• Supporting the development of reliable, cost-effective and customer-centric battery system design
• Ensure the highest standards of occupational health and safety and environmental protection, as well as monitoring and developing design criteria, normative bases and specifications
• Support the development, review and technical supervision of all battery storage project system designs
• Reviewing the work of external specialist companies used in battery storage design
• Supporting the central procurement of battery storage components, as well as the technical coordination with the relevant manufacturers and technical evaluation of the offered components
• Supporting battery storage system studies during the design and implementation phase

Your profile

• Master of Science in electrical engineering or a comparable course of study
• Initial experience in the field of lithium-ion battery storage systems and their system integration as well as experience in the field of PV, battery storage and hybrid systems
• Knowledge of energy storage projects, current trends in the energy industry with the main focus on battery storage and the will to independently fill knowledge gaps
• Strong technical acumen combined with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Business fluent in German and English
• Plus, not a must
• Experience in performance modelling of battery storage systems
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visiso, Bluebeam or similar software
• Experience with simulation software such as PSCAD or PowerFactory
