As a Senior Investment Manager with financial background you are part of the Investment Team of Haniel, which currently consists of 18 investment professionals and is led by 3 Investment Partners.

Your Tasks
OWNERSHIP OF THE INVESTMENT PROCESS
Supporting the Partner in the deal sourcing process of mid-cap investments
Evaluation and recommendation of investments through state-of-the-art strategic, company valuation and financial analysis
Managing the deal process from sourcing to closing with some guidance from the Sector Partner
Bringing in first ideas on deal origination based on own networks or industry expertise DRIVING ACTIVE PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
Active involvement in value creation of acquired portfolio companies through developing a coherent value creation strategy & full potential plans for portfolio companies as well as coordination and management of value creation initiatives, e.g., through cooperation with Value accelerator teams
Overseeing development and implementation of value creation levers in portfolio Companies KEY INTERFACES
Partner: Continuous support and execution of Partner’s strategic guidance and input; own drive for deal origination as well as development of value creation plans for portfolio companies
Value accelerators: Cooperation in identifying and implementing value creation levers
Functional leads: Ensuring exchange with functional leads
Portfolio companies: Interacting with managers of portfolio companies

Your Profile

Minimum of 7 years working experience within family or private equity, investment banking / M&A advisory or consulting (strategy, due diligence) ideally with a sector focus adjacent to the Haniel portfolio strategy
Academic degree in business / engineering / quantitative studies combined with knowledge in the area of finance and strategy
Experience in managing investment processes end to end with knowledge of required valuation and due diligence tools and approaches and drive to close deals
Capability to manage a multitude of participants in a deal process, incl. lawyers, consultants, auditors, banks, and a team of business analysts
Proven track record in portfolio management, implementation of value creation levers combined with strategy development and deployment
Practical experience in guiding and developing business analysts
Strategic mindset: See ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies
Business insight: Apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals
Financial acumen: Interpret and apply understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions
Strong interpersonal skills
