PhD or Post-doc (m,f,x) for 3 years with 39,83 hours per week (TV-L E13) bei Ruhr Universität Bochum

Your tasks:

• process simulation of a lime shaft kiln using Aspen Plus
• simulate simplified ammonia/hydrogen flame configuration using Cantera
• develop a lime shaft kiln model in OpenFoam
• simulate lime shaft kilns for different operating conditions with the OpenFoam model

Your profile:

• The ideal candidate will hold a Master (or PhD) in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry and has a prior knowledge of modelling of particle systems, fluid mechanics, gas phase reactions and C++ programming.
• Required is especially a proved experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations of reactive flows.
• Knowledge of the English language in word and writing is required. Mastering of or willingness to learn the German language (C1 proficiency level would be ideal) are considered very valuable assets.
