Our work covers a wide range of texts for both expert audiences and the general public, including multilingual content for our website aimed at making the ECB’s work accessible to non-expert readers.
As a trainee German translator, you will join one of the Division’s multilingual sections, which are responsible for communicating the ECB’s messages to almost 350 million Europeans who do not have English as their first language. As a trainee German translator you will:
- translate texts from English into German;
- revise and proofread texts in German;
- help to identify, extract and compile terminology, particularly in the fields of economics and finance;
- align previously translated documents so they can be added to our translation memory databases.
The position offers you excellent opportunities to use state-of-the-art language technology tools in your daily work and to gain an insight into language services activities in an EU institution. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
