The ZEISS Medical Ecosystem is enabled and empowered by a strong digital backbone – our Health Data Platform: Home of services and products that either are medical devices themselves or support medical devices as data source, processor or by other means. In your role as Delivery Manager, you play a key role in this program as you take over responsibility for projects that are providing connectivity, data management or clinical viewer capabilities - the basis for many of our future digital workflows and business applications. The role oversees the entire research & development activities within our product & software development process. As we are manufacturer of medical devices, this does not end with coding but also requires complying with our quality management system (e.g., ISO 13485 and other regulatory requirements) as well as collaborating with many different stakeholders (e.g., portfolio management, quality management, clinical/regulatory affairs, localization, testing, product management).
Your Role:
We are looking for a person that is comfortable with navigating and communicating through technical domains, understands the needs of a program that follows agile software development principles (SCRUM, SAFe) as well as regulatory requirements. You can empathize and interact with colleagues from a very broad set of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds to translate their needs and expectations into one joint solution. We know this is demanding – but we can also ensure you that within that role, you will get unique insights into the development of digital solutions for patient care that helps our customers to increase their patient’s quality of life. At the same time, the role of a Delivery Manager is positioned within different areas of our development activities and thus enables you to build a strong network and relationship within many areas. Though the activities of this kind of role are typically manifold and sometimes difficult to be put on one page, we try to give you a better idea with the following bullet points.
-
Breaking down a product roadmap or feature requests into a product increment and related engineering and documentation deliverables together with core stakeholders (e.g., product management, product owner, regulatory, service, engineering, operations)
-
Manage projects according to our internal quality management system (ISO 13485) and thus quality gates/milestone processes (i.e., planning, creation, and review of product delivery and documentation together with the team)
-
Coordinating project plans, product requirements (features) and other deliverables with various stakeholders (e.g., quality management, UX/UI, localization, regulatory teams, cybersecurity, product management)
-
Orchestrating and overseeing documentation and execution of kick off/milestones/gates and overall project oversight and responsibility for process compliance
-
Overall R&D responsibility (i.e., planning, re-prioritization in alignment with Product Management) and alignment with other roles for delivery (e.g., release manager, Release Train Engineer, Product Owner)
Your Profile:
Working on those various topics is typically something for people who love communication, coordination, and pushing things forward. This is not something you can learn at any university, but we think the following aspects can help us to narrow down who we are looking for – if you have doubts, feel free to ask us. The worst that can happen is a friendly “Sorry – not this time”:
Formal Qualification and education: University degree in medical physics, computer science, engineering, business informatics, business information systems engineering, or a relevant adjacent subject; alternatively, a business degree and strong technology and healthcare experience
Work Experience and “hard skills”:
-
4 – 6 years of work experience in software development of complex products, ideally in the health care industry (maybe you have heard of standards and regulations like FDA 510(k), MDD and MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485) or any other regulated industry (e.g., automotive, banking, insurance, pharma)
-
Knowledge of relevant agile product owner and project management methodologies; Furthermore, you are skilled in balancing risk with time-to-market objectives
-
Experience and knowledge to easily navigate through corporate, regulatory, as well as technical environments and topics
-
Fluent in business English; German is a plus but not strictly necessary
-
Excellent writing style to present and communicate complex issues in an understandable manner
