The Head of and Category Manager for Advisory Services (ADV) is responsible for the external spend and the associated supplier landscape for the commodities Consulting, Corporate & Process audit, Learning & Training, HR Services, Finance & Tax Services, general Outsourcing Services (BPO), Legal Services, and Marketing & Communication.
In close alignment with stakeholder departments you and your team will ensure that Siemens Energy’s needs for Advisory Services are met, that Siemens Energy’s supplier landscape for this area is maintained and further developed, and that strong contracts secure service deliveries as well as supplier relationships.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage the procurement employees in the ADV team within Indirect Material (IM) Procurement and give guidance to other members of Siemens Energy Procurement dealing with, e.g., regional sourcing activities for ADV
- Attract, develop and retain your team’s talent pool and further advance its capabilities and skill set
- Develop and implement global supply & commodity strategies in the area of your responsibility
- Identify and manage procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage and to exploit potential opportunities through tailored actions
- Lead global tendering, contracting, and supplier activities, such as supplier identification, introduction, qualification, and development
- Secure global pooling & bundling synergies in ADV are realized across Siemens Energy, and -where applicable- with other pooling partners
- Synchronize sourcing strategies with Regional Procurement Managers and their staff, and guide and support them in implementing regional commodity strategies related to ADV
- Ensure reporting and controlling of defined information and figures such as spend forecast and savings reporting
- Develop, initiate, lead and/or support improvement initiatives, e.g., support outsourcing activities
- Represent IM in the interface with senior management of relevant cross-functions and internal customers within the Siemens Energy Business Areas and at Corporate level, as well as with other Procurement teams and leadership
What You Bring
- A successful university degree in a technical and/or commercial area, equivalent to a Master’s degree
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in Procurement, Management, Consulting, and/or commercial areas
- Experience in digitalized procurement processes and systems beneficial
- Excellent managerial and communication skills for interacting with internal business and external collaboration partners as well as suppliers at CxO level
- Proven people leadership skills for managing a cross-country and diverse team
- Broad experience and understanding of value & supply chains, preferably in the area of ADV
- Strong analytical and planning skills; ability to translate the supply chain, market & supplier environment into a global category strategy & roadmap
- Easy-to-approach and connective personality; inspiring and positive mindset
- Proficiency in English (C1) both orally and in writing

Our Strategic Procurement department is part of Siemens Energy’s Global Functions. We are responsible for the management of Siemens Energy’s external spend, supplier relations and contracts as well as for associated aspects such as total cost of ownership, supply availability & supply chain resilience, product & service quality, and supply chain sustainability, to name a few. Our Indirect Material Procurement department is responsible for materials and services not directly related to Siemens Energy’s products and projects, but instead being used across our business units and corporate functions.
