For the department "Vector Biology" we are looking for a
Your tasks: - Work in the insectary breeding and husbandry platform of the laboratory
- Assisted guidance of the mosquito cycle from egg-laying to adult mosquito: floating eggs, splitting and feeding larvae, feeding mosquitoes on human blood
- General insectary cleaning and order maintenance
- Mosquito dissection and parasite loads analysis (midgut and salivary glands)
Your qualifications: - Certified qualification as Technical Assistant (MTA, BTA) or Biology Lab Assistant; Career starters welcome
- The very nature of the job requires a high sense of responsibility and diligence, ability to work in a structured, precise and independent manner, and moderate to high physical activity and mobility in order to handle mosquito’s cultures and containers
- Motivation to work regularly in an insectary and to become skilled at Anopheles-related techniques
- Reliability, team-oriented work and willingness to learn
- The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal English
