To support our pupils with educational health care plans the governors are seeking to appoint a Special Support Assistant. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.15am to 2.55pm. Each day you will have an unpaid morning break and a meal break giving you a working week of 27.5 hours.

The ideal candidate for the grade C role will have had experience of a similar role within secondary schools and hold the required level 2 qualification, supporting teaching in schools or a relevant degree.

For all our SSA roles it is essential that you have a minimum of 3 grade A-C GCE (or equivalent) qualifications which must include Maths & English. Certificates for all your qualifications will need to be produced at interview along with proof of your right to work in the UK.

Within the classroom you will work with pupils on a one to one basis or within small groups. You will be supporting children with specific learning or behavioural needs and therefore prior proven experience of working with children with ADHD, Dyslexia, visual impairment etc. would be advantageous. You will provide appropriate support for the child in lessons to allow them to access the curriculum and ensure that they make good progress. You must have a calm and caring nature to be able to support these pupils.
