The Cost and Value Engineering (CVE) function drives cost transparency and optimization for purchased materials, components, and systems in the SE product portfolio. As a CVE Procurement Engineer, you will lead diverse projects to generate cost-saving ideas, collaborate with suppliers, and facilitate the transfer of measures to external customers. You will also represent SE Procurement in the development of new products and exploring new markets, working closely with R&D Project Managers to achieve project targets. Your contribution will be vital in ramping up Siemens Energy's hydrogen business and advancing the energy transition.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as key interface for CVE and Procurement for electrolyzer auxiliaries / systems (e.g. compressors, transformers, rectifiers, packaging).
- Develop and implement effective cost out measures in close alignment with cross-functions (e.g. R&D, EN, Procurement, Manufacturing, Bid Management).
- Actively collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Project Procurement during the bidding process of new and/or optimized product offerings.
- Represent Procurement in selected key R&D programs to develop most competitive products based on given market requirements and drive standardization / automation.
- Act as technical partner for Procurement to develop & implement effective sourcing strategies across material fields (commodities).
- Leverage know-how and innovation power of our suppliers and conduct technology scouting together with Procurement and R&D.
- Support market introduction of new products through early involvement of Procurement and strategic partnering with suppliers in new app and service business.
- Include an extended network of experts from other procurement functions in the projects you work on (e.g. Cost Engineers, Commodity Managers, Supplier Quality Managers).
What You Bring
- Technical degree such as electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering with passion for commercial topics
- Many years of professional experience in energy or industrial applications industry, in roles such as engineering, R&D, Project Management and/or Supply Chain
- Relevant technical product knowledge in electrolyzer systems and auxiliaries preferred
- Excellent project management, interpersonal and communication skills, also in interaction with internal customers and senior management
- Passion in the role as moderator / facilitator, to bring internal and external experts together in an effective goal-oriented format (e.g. workshops)
- Curious, pro-active, fast learning, and are driven by results, while having strong prioritization skills
- Proficient in English and German
