Faculty II – Institute of Mathematics / Analysis and Applications
Reference number: II-472/23 (starting at the earliest possible / limited for 5 years / closing date for applications 31/12/2023)
Tasks
Cooperation in research and teaching, especially in the field of Inverse Problems (research on numerical methods for inverse scattering problems in waveguides). Conducting courses (4 SWS for full-time students), especially exercises for mathematical majors. Supervision of seminars and students and their theses.
Requirements:
- Completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in Mathematics or a closely related course of studies
- Knowledge in the field of numerical methods for partial differential equations
- Knowledge in the field of numerical methods for optimization problems
- Good coding skills (for example in matlab)
- The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
- Ability to work in a team
