The General Manager is responsible for defining the strategy and driving execution across various functions, including product, business development, marketing, sales, and operations.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include:
- Setting the overall strategy for Avalara’s ELR business unit, including objectives and key results.
- Driving key organizational initiatives to accelerate growth, improve efficiency, and optimize customer satisfaction.
- Bringing a vision for how a product meets market, customer, and personas’ unmet needs and pain points.
- Developing and consummating key technology and referral partnerships.
- Acquiring and expanding key customer relationships.
- Collaborating with Marketing and Sales to create and capture demand.
- Establishing and updating financial objectives, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and reporting.
- Building and developing a best-in-class team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and results-driven environment.
Qualifications:
To be successful, you will have
- E-invoicing experience
- 5+ years of General Management experience.
- Ability to speak German. Romanian, Spanish, or French language skills are a plus.
- 7+ years within the ELR industry.
- 10+ years of experience with SaaS (Software as a Service) Platforms.
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in matrix organizations.
- History of a minimum of 5+ years' experience in high-growth technology.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
- Knowledge of key industries, such as manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, and retail.
- Broad business acumen and solid experience in strategy, product, business development, marketing, and operations.
- Demonstrated strong influence leadership skills to advocate, align, and execute initiatives across a matrix organization.
- Proven experience with Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) or similar frameworks.
- Demonstrated advanced business development and sales skills, with the ability to generate, negotiate, and consummate partnerships and acquire customers.
- Experience with platform integrations, including marketplaces, e-commerce, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), accounting, on-premises, and custom API (Application Programming Interface) (Application Programming Interface) integrations.
- Skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
- Must be able to travel.
