Consultants for a power shift case study in Homeoffice bei International Civil Society Centre

Scope of work

The “Power of Making Futures” report will comprise nine case studies which will be documented through different formats, encompassing a mixed media approach to content development, such as narrative storytelling, podcasts and graphic recording. The case studies will be sourced and agreed upon by the ICSC and Partos and presented to the consultant(s).

We are looking for a consultant or a team of consultants who can dedicate up to 30 working days between October and December 2023 to co-create and fully document the nine innovation case studies. The time estimate is approximately 2 to 3 days effort per case study, working very closely with each contributing organisation(s) and using a consistent framework across all examples and document the content to be showcased. Further, the consultant(s) will develop a summary of the report and a final section of recommendations for the sector informed by review of common success factors and lessons across the portfolio of case studies.

• Knowledge of or experience of key issues related to power shift in the international development, humanitarian and peacebuilding sector
• Knowledge of or strong understanding of key issues and trends related to innovation in the international civil society sector
• Rapid relationship building and professionalism, and close co-creation or collaboration experiences with a range of international and national CSOs
• High level of cross-cultural awareness and emotional intelligence
• Strong communication, editing and writing skills
• Able to think creatively and visually about how to represent and portray stories and messages (from the case studies) in non-text, visual and audio formats
• Excellent time management skills and also project management and scheduling to minimise the asks on time-poor collaborators
• Able to self-manage and meet project deadlines, be highly responsive to contact from the Centre’s and accept and actively manage and follow-up assigned tasks in the Centre’s online project management system (Asana).

Background

The International Civil Society Centre’s Innovation Report series started in 2019 showcases innovative responses from a range of civil society organisations, across geographies and area of expertise. The publication provides an opportunity for organisations to benefit more from the lessons others have learned, or are in the process of addressing, particularly in the context of complex common external challenges.

Our 2024 Innovation Report, produced in partnership with Partos will document approaches that foster novelty and creativity in shifting the power that are locally driven and supported by local innovation eco-systems across geographies.
