We are seeking a Feature Extraction Engineer/Data Scientist to join our European data extraction team, refining and creatively effective algorithms that will allow our clients to generate 2D/3D imaging from a range of data sources.

We are a distributed team delivering feature extraction solutions for 2D/3D/Hybrid data across multiple Trimble divisions, teams and products. The solutions involve cutting-edge AI technologies combined with classical algorithms that translate into products used in everyday customer workflows. Ranging from remote sensing data, CAD drawings to various types of point clouds.

Ideally, you will be commutable to our Munich office where you will work hybridly between home and our office. As well as being able to manipulate data efficiently, you must be an effective communicator as you will work in tight collaboration with the product managers, software developers and other Trimble teams to provide our end users the state of the art solutions they require.

What You Will Do:

• As a Feature Extraction Engineer / Data Scientist, you will be:

• Working with our Feature Extraction team consisting of software engineers and feature extraction engineers in proposing and defining solutions for various feature extraction workflows and implementing solutions from prototype to production.

• Working on solutions with 2D raster and 3D point cloud data focusing on GeoSpatial workflows.

• Developing algorithms and workflows, including deep learning, knowledge-based solutions for extracting features from 2D, 3D and hybrid 2D/3D data.

• Productizing solutions into Trimble software packages like Trimble Business Center, Trimble Cloud frameworks, etc.

• Supported by software engineers for required core features and infrastructure to deploy solutions to production

• Actively collaborating with other hardware and software teams at Trimble working on different types of sensors and data including scanning, mobile mapping, aerial survey.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related

• Experience with image processing

• Strong background in math

• Hands-on experience with python and deep learning packages like TensorFlow

• Highly-motivated, autonomous self-starter with achievement-based drive

• Excellent english communication skills (written, spoken)

• Experience with point clouds is a strong plus

• Understanding of GeoSpatial workflows is a plus
