What to Expect We are looking for a motivated Industrial Engineer to join our team at Tesla. The Waste Management team is responsible for the correct disposal of all wastes generated during the manufacturing of our cars. The ideal candidate has solid experience with projects related to process improvements with real impact on productivity growth and/or costs reduction. This position requires active participation on the shopfloor, demonstrating a hands-on approach for overseeing waste management initiatives. It’s pivotal the candidate be proactive in solving problems, as well as possess good communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues across various departments. What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategic projects, supporting with technical specifications, cost estimates, project timelines to further develop the Waste Management Department
- Focus on costs and performance optimization throughout analysis of production processes, materials, and resource utilization
- Implement and enforce best practices for waste reduction and proper disposal in alignment with environmental regulations
- Develop time and motion studies for waste activities
- Support in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) creation, measurement, and monitoring
- Regularly inspect waste related workflow and processes on the shopfloor for enhancement of productivity.
What You’ll Bring - Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial/process engineering roles, process optimization on shop floor, cost reduction projects, and continuous improvement
- Knowledge about waste regulations or previous work in Waste Management is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing Tools
- Be very proactive and enjoy working independently
- Expert level in Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Keen attention to detail in data collection, data analysis, and process investigation
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with different stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German
