As part of the BMBF-funded project
"Fertility Protection Research Centre Ulm - FePro-Ulm", a new interdisciplinary junior research center for reproductive health with a focus on "fertility protection" is being established at the University of Ulm.
As Clinician Scientist, you continue the medical residency in obs&gyn combined with research time (part time 50%:50%). Scientifically, the research topics are in the clinical, experimental and translational areas, focused on improving the viability of cryopreserved ovarian tissue, and evaluating fertility limitations in endometriosis, transgender individuals, and the general population.
Reproductive medicine is a young field in medicine. Fertility protection is particularly important for oncological patients prior to cytotoxic therapies, for patients with severe endometriosis, for transgender individuals as well as for healthy young women who want to postpone their family planning to a later stage of life ("social freezing").
