Grid Resilience Portfolio Line

The Grid Resilience Portfolio is striving to help Grid Operators in keeping their grids stable under changing conditions, while they are running closer to their limits. Our products support proactive risk identification and mitigation as well as adaptation during system operations, looking at power system and protection system as a whole.

The energy transition is gaining momentum – Decentral Energy Resources are expected to grow sevenfold by the end of the decade. Power grids had not been built for this scenario, but they have to cope with this new situation and must not become the bottleneck. Building new lines requires money, time and political consensus – and cannot solve the challenge alone. Increasing transport capacity by software is a very smart and effective measure in this context.

We are seeking a Product Manager to drive our software product portfolio for grid operator companies to securely increase high voltage grid capacity – and to capture this emerging market opportunity. This includes particularly the concepts of Dynamic Line Rating and Dynamic Security Assessment.

The product manager acts as the entrepreneur for her/his products and ensures they are providing a highly attractive customer value proposition:

Understand power grid customer workflows in detail and anticipate future needs in the light of technical and regulatory trends
Continuously and proactively monitor competition
Engage with leading customers worldwide to validate pain points, solution approaches and their business value
Establish and own the business case
Translate the identified business need into (functional and non-functional) requirements and refine them in close collaboration with R&D
Own and continuously challenge the product roadmap with a strategic mindset
Consistently seek for opportunities to create enhanced customer value also by implementing use cases that combine several products from the broad Siemens Grid Software portfolio
Design and implement suitable pricing strategies for optimized value capture
Drive product campaigns in collaboration with Marketing that convince the target audience of superior user value
Ensure a suitable operational value chain across pre-sales, sales, delivery, after sales
Support sales with strategic opportunities, especially complementing sales discussions with technical expertise; perform sales enablement
Develop and maintain an active user group

What you need to make real what matters.

You have a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with many years of working experience with a utility, a TSO or as a consultant
Also, you have a strong power system engineering background with experiences in using software to simulate and analyse power grids (load flow, dynamics, state estimation)
Your agile mindset (including co-innovation methods, prototyping, …) distinguishes yourself
Furthermore, you have remarkable problem-solving and analytical skills
Additionally, you have experience in software business and programming (Python, …)
Moreover, you have a positive and cooperative attitude as well as an intrinsic motivation alongside with a pronounced entrepreneurial mindset and experience
In addition, you have strong communication and people skills and intercultural sensitivity
Because of your balanced personality, you are able to show ownership and commitment for the assigned product while consistently making strictly rationally justified decisions and carefully anticipating business threats and acting proactively
Also, you have the ability to work in and motivate cross-functional teams with a constructive-critical attitude to yourself and others
You are fluent in English, further language skills are a plus
