Job Description:
Primary Job Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
Entry level Engineer I- Technical support position for new college graduate. The candidate will join a team of professionals providing high level and high-quality support to our customers (Telecom Service Providers, Major Comm. Suppliers, and major institutes). Here are the main duties, among others, the Engineer I- Technical support will be performing:

Learn in depth about network timing and synchronization.

Learn and troubleshoot network management system like TimePictra.
-
Troubleshooting of customer’s Microchip timing and synchronization systems and equipment.
-
Log customer cases in the CRM System.
-
Work on solutions or workarounds and escalate if the customer is in a critical situation and no timely solution is available.
-
Effective communication with the customer.
-
Proactive communication with the Technical Support Management.
-
Documentation of the solution and timely updates of the customer case status in the CRM.
-
Focus on pre-sales and post sales technical engagements for Microchip FTS products.
-
Provide front line technical and applications support for customers and internal sales forces.
-
Provide technical presentations and trainings that reflect customer requirements and emphasis on scalable features of Microchip FTs equipment.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

BA/MS Telecom Engineering Degree, 0 to 2 years of experience.

Familiar with LINUX operating system.
-
Basic knowledge / understanding of networks, protocols and switching technologies including TCP/IP, ATM, T1, T3, DSL, NAT, VPN, PPP, PPOE and DSLAMs, SDN, MPLS.

Knowledge of protocols NTP, SNMP, SNTP, Ethernet, NTP, PTP.

Effective communication skills (writing and speaking) and readiness to engage in Phone or Web-based Conference Calls.

PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.
